Vaughaligan “Von Won” Walwyn was born in St.Croix of the US Virgin Islands and raised on the southeast side of Houston,TX. After an impressive high school career as a standout in the choir, multiple varsity letter athlete and honor society student, he went on to earn a full paid track & field scholarship to the prestigious Rice University, where he earned his bachelor’s degree in History.
This All-American athlete, and US Virgin Island national record holder in the long jump with a leap of 26ft 1 inch has emerged as an elite inspirational recording artist and powerful motivational speaker.
After a career ending knee injury that kept him from the Olympic games, then months later learning his father was dying of AIDS, Von Won journeyed down a path of bad decision making which lead him to a near life ending event, getting tazed multiple times and abused by police.
Finding strength in his passion to be a better man, Von Won decided to put down his reckless lifestyle of drinking, drug abuse and chasing riches, to live a life of integrity, encouraging people all over the world through inspirational media. He has released several inspirational albums online, including the world’s 1st 100-song album, entitled “The Century Club!”
Recently Von Won, connected with NFL athlete, Quintin Demps of the Houston Texans. Demps, decided to launch his new record label, Purpose By Faith Music Group and signed Von Won as his first artist. Next Spring, Von Won will release his new project under Purpose By Faith Music Group entitled, “Shock Therapy.” This will be a triple release: a book, album and documentary! Such a product has never been released in ministry or the entertainment business.
